CPP – the company behind the misselling – was found to have misled customers by selling them insurance policies of up to £100,000 to cover their credit card. A large number of people who bought the policies were actually covered by their banks in the first place.
The company has also reportedly employed scare tactics in the sales processes by overstating the risks faced by customers.
The banks are now braced for a new set of claims as it was found that most of the high street banks have used CPP as an insurance provider on their credit cards.

CPP are accused of widely misselling insurance policies to customers that did not want or need them, and encouraging its sales agents to be overly persistent.
